Who

A townsman of Vallaki, taken into the Reformation Center and then taken out of it again by the Baron, for his own use.

Where

We found him in a room on the middle floor of the Baron's mansion, manacled to the wall. He left on his own feet.

Free, somewhere in town.

First met

Session 14, when we went through the mansion after the festival.

Udo is one small, ugly truth about the Baron, and so far the only one of the Reformation Center's prisoners we have set free. Among the bedrooms on the middle floor of the mansion, one door had someone yelling behind it. When we unlocked it there was a man manacled to the wall.

"Oh, let me out please. I'm sure I've been here long enough. I got picked out from the usual Reformation intake for special attention. The Burgomaster has anger issues. He likes to take it out on the occasional prisoner rather than anyone else."

We let him out. Sirius told him he was free under the light of the Morning Lord, and that he might have a lovely life if he went to church every day or two, and perhaps learned some hymns. "Oh, I shall, sir. I thank you for letting me out. Udo Lu- Lukovich is my name. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Bye." And he was gone down the stairs.

What we still don't know

• Has he anyone waiting for him? We didn't ask.
• Was he the only one the Baron took from the Center this way?
• If Ireena ever needs a witness to what went on in that house, he is one. Will he speak?
