Ismark's Map

Scribbled for us outside the church while we were down in the crypt with Doru. Scale dubious, sincerity total.

Ismark drew this on a scrap of parchment while we were down in the crypt under the church, ending things with Doru. He was leaning on the wall by the door when we came up, asked how it had gone, and handed it over. "This is my best effort to create a map, to draw out my understanding of the local area. It's not perfect. The scale's way off, but it gives an idea of where things are."

He was vague about the wine, which in Barovia is not a small matter: "Somewhere to the south of Krezk, there is the winery. I know it's there-ish, so I put it on the map. I was doodling at that point." He was clear about the rest. Vallaki was about four days away and the best bet for Ireena's safety. The pool was a day's walk, where the Vistani keep a camp that is "at least a bit safer than camping on your own". The castle speaks for itself.

It got us to Vallaki. Danika later put the winery at about a week from there, by way of Krezk.

What is written on it, roughly west to east:

KREZK, at the western end of the road
WINE?, on its own in the south-west
LAKE, a large one, in the north
VALLAKI, in the middle of the road
CASTLE, off a fork east of Vallaki, and under it AVOID!
POOL, where the road bends
US, the village
GATE, at the eastern end
