The reveal at the bar
Asked whether any good needed doing, she gave us a family matter: the Martikovs own the winery in the south — “our family wine keeps this entire bubble afloat” — and the latest shipment is several days late, which never happens. No commission, no coin: just look in on them, if your travels take you west and south. She filled in the blanks on Sirius’s map with her own hand, and gave us the keys to Krezk while she was at it: insular folk who may want outsiders to prove themselves or provide a service — “though our wine, naturally, gets in everywhere.”
The wince
Recorded without conclusion: when the death of Roger’s raven-man came up at the bar, Danika winced. She was not happy the subject was raised. The Martikovs and the ravens keep ending up in the same sentences — the family owns the winery that shut Roger’s band out the very week they killed it; the inn’s roof hosts more ravens than pigeons; and Roger’s parting law was don’t kill the ravens. We are watching, politely, and saying nothing.
(Update, Session 10: conclusion no longer avoidable. Her husband is a wereraven — he showed us — his clan holds the winery, and the murdered raven-man was his Great Uncle Frederick. The wince has a first name now. We caught her “saw no one” act on a natural 20 the same evening, and we are gallantly continuing to say nothing.)
