Where: Behind his walls, on his mountain. He has not left in years.
Status: The address on the locket’s future. And possibly on several other problems.
The lighthouse behind a curtain
There is a quiet rift in the Morninglord’s church in this valley. Father Lucian keeps Vallaki’s soul alive on soup, sermons, and no sleep — the better man, and we will say so to anyone. The abbot is something else: the Morninglord has seen fit to give him might Lucian will never hold — true miracles, healing of the body and of the mind, and stories, more than one, that he has raised the dead. And he spends it behind his walls, on his own flock, while the common folk of this land bleed. A holy man who cannot be reached, said Headmistress Claudia, is a lighthouse behind a curtain.
Her counsel on the demon in our packs was blunt: Lucian can pray over it. The abbot could perhaps end it. “If I had that thing in my pocket, I would walk to Krezk.”

- The glowing pool — Roger’s band traced our identical fate-card to the pool behind Krezk’s walls: knowledge of our enemy (The Reading).

- And one strange footnote: when Lady Wachter’s husband died, she wrote to the abbey about raising him — then vanished two weeks and came home with a raven.

- A man who heals minds and raises the dead, in a land where the dead should stay down — what is he, and what will he want for the locket?
- Why does everyone who describes him pause first, and pick the kind words deliberately?
